Brilliantly Birmingham

Look out for this year’s Brilliantly Birmingham season. This year will see a glamorous and ground breaking season of contemporary jewellery showcasing across the City. Venues all over Birmingham will be hosting a variety of high quality jewellery exhibitions and events offering a unique insight into jewellery making and design. Brilliantly Birmingham provides opportunities to many of the Jewellery Quarter’s talented design fraternity to show their work in our City. In some of the venues it is also possible to buy original works.

This year will see exhibitions in the Quarter at the RBSA Gallery (11 Nov – 24 Dec), the Museum of The Jewellery Quarter (2 Nov – 21 Dec) and the School of Jewellery (28 Oct – 4 Jan) as well as the ‘In the Making’ celebration at The Big Peg.

‘Centrepiece’
24 designer maker jewellers and silversmiths each year organise and run a selling exhibition ‘Centrepiece’ at Symphony Hall for the three weeks before Christmas. Established in 1997, taking place every Christmas in the foyer of Symphony Hall, Centrepiece is a group of jewellers and silversmiths, producing work at the cutting edge of design. Most members of the group trained at Birmingham’s School of Jewellery and continue to produce their work in the Jewellery Quarter. Products on display sell from between £20.00 to £2000.00 for pieces made from silver through to 18ct yellow and white gold set with gems.

There is a huge diversity of style and choice for men and women of all ages. Open from 30th Nov. to 22nd Dec., 11am to 10.30pm every day it is an opportunity to pick up something not only different but hand made for that special someone.

This year they are running a free entry prize draw and have secured sponsorship from a local bullion dealer (Andrew Evans owner of Slimbrand) who has made it possible for our top prize to a piece of jewellery worth £250.00 which the winner will be invited to come and chose from Centrepiece.
