Cut and Fold; Exploring Paper Through Cutting and Folding Workshop with Clare Pentlow ARBSA.
Learning about the potential of paper through cutting and folding. You will be looking at geometric folding creating architectural forms and structures, whilst also gaining an insight into how Clare creates her own unique more organic designs. A day of two halves learning about different techniques with paper and how you can create your own paper art.
Age group and abilities to be taught

18 years and above.
Suitable for all abilities.

Course aims and skills/knowledge to be taught

Geometric Folding
Confidence with a scalpel
Paper sculpture through cutting and folding paper.
How to create your own designs

Course outline
Morning activity

Geometric Folding
Learning some of the basic shapes and language in origami and how to interpret different designs
Enjoy creating your own designs
Origami artists / paper engineers to further explore

Afternoon activity

Learn how Clare creates her unique paper art
Simple cutting techniques, gaining confidence in using a scalpel
Different ways to sculpt paper and combining cutting and folding

Materials and equipment to be brought by participants

You may bring in your own scalpel to use

Materials and equipment provided
All materials will be included in the fee.
