Silicone to Silver: Jewellery like you’ve never seen before!

Final year students at the world-famous School of Jewellery will be unveiling their collections for the first time at the Graduate Show this June. The show launches on Monday 12th June through till Saturday 17th June, with an Industry evening on Tuesday, 13th June from 5:30.

With over 50 graduates exhibiting their unique collections there is most certainly something for everyone. Examples of this variety include kinetic elements, are 3D printed, involve unusual and tactile materials and even include hand cultivated crystals and homemade eco-resin. The aesthetic ranges from fun and playful to sophisticated and fashion forward while the scale is both small and delicate to over the top wearables.

Beaulagh Brooks, Programme Leader at the School of Jewellery, commented that “the Summer Show at Birmingham City University – School of Jewellery looks set to be the best show yet as the BA Hons Jewellery Design and Related Product Graduates launch their inspiring collections. Work ranges from Fine Jewellery to Sculptural and Functional Tableware, exploring Art, Design and Social interaction. All the work will be unveiled for the first time and promises to be innovative and engaging… An amazing show, not to be missed!”

This show is open to the public running from 10am to 4pm all week and is free to attend. Graduates will be on hand to talk about their work at various times throughout the week. Items will be for sale and commissions will be accepted. A select portion of these designers will next be exhibiting at New Designers in London from the 28th June to the 1st July.
