Blue Orange Arts embarks on two new social projects for the summer. One of which is the ‘Theatre of the Unemployed’ and has proved very popular over the last few years – the start of the fourth version started in April.
The project is open to people from Birmingham who are unemployed and over 50 years of age or have experience of mental health issues or learning difficulties. The project will consist of 13 free drama-based workshops which will look at and explore issues around employment, mental health and age, as well as providing effective exercises that develop interview and communication skills.
Participants will create an exciting new piece of theatre throughout the duration of the project, which will culminate with a performance at the Blue Orange Theatre on the 27th July. (Supported by Birmingham City Council).
