A small group from Alabaster and Wilson (past and present staff) are undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – to raise funds for Solihull Autistic Spectrum Support and Information (SASSI).
This is due to take place on Thursday, 7 August 2008, with the aim of completing the peaks within a 24-hour period. The team consists of ten members and we are looking for support from the jewellery trade in the form of donations and sponsorship. We also hope that a company would be willing to donate ten medals, suitably engraved, to commemorate this endeavour.
The aim of SASSI is to support families who have children and young adults on the autistic spectrum and their siblings. It is supported by professionals from various organisations, including the National Autistic Society, Autism West Midlands and Solihull Inclusion Support Services.
Artful Expression has been very supportive in encouraging customer donations and Keith and Diane of The Prince of Wales pub, Moseley Village, have kindly donated transport. Thanks also to John Farley for his kind donation of a bracelet to start the ball rolling. If anyone can donate any items of jewellery which can go towards a raffle prize or auction, please contact Patrick on 0121 779 4091 or 07956 180546.
Suttons Tools in Vittoria Street have said they would be happy to take in donations on SASSI’s behalf.
