Event Details
The ever changing RBSA Membership is given the opportunity to exhibit current work every year in the Society’s flagship show, the RBSA Annual Exhibition.
In 2025, the Society welcomed 16 new Associates, and four artists were elected to become full Members. This annual growth ensures the survival of the RBSA and means that, not only is this yearly exhibition a showcase of work, it is also a celebration of the continued success of one of the oldest art societies in the country.
An incredible broad spectrum of practices are represented in the show and visitors can expect to see paintings, drawings, textiles, photography, ceramics, prints, and sculpture. All of the work in the exhibition is for sale and pieces by the RBSA Membership are held in both public and private collections around the world.
Since the first Annual Exhibition in 1827, there remain only three years during which the show could not be held, 1940, 1941, and 2020. The RBSA Archive holds copies of exhibition catalogues for the vast majority of these events and recent, full colour, editions continue this tradition.
Exhibiting artists will be in the Gallery at various times throughout the show to talk to visitors.
Private View: Thursday 20 November 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Exhibition closes: Saturday 3 January 2026 5.00pm

The tale as old as time…but filthier than ever before!
Brace yourself* as “SIDE-SPLITTINGLY FUNNY” adult panto returns to Birmingham’s Blue Orange Theatre, following the success of TINDER-ELLA!, BLOW WHITE and BIG DICK WHITTINGTON, for a strictly limited run this December.
This year, Beauty Bangs The Beast in this shamelessly naughty retelling of the classic fairy tale. When Belle finds herself trapped in the Beast’s dungeon, things get steamy, silly, and seriously scandalous. Will she break the curse… or just break the bed?
Expect enchanted toys, randy roses, and a Beast with a horn problem. It’s a tale of love, lust, and questionable morals – with more innuendo than you can shake a sausage at.
Join filthy Belle, the horny Beast, Madame Moan and all the gang for an unforgettable night of cheeky, grown-up laughs, outrageous antics, and panto like you’ve never seen it before!
*Please note that this production WILL contain adult jokes, strong language, outrageous behaviour and more cackles than a hen do in Magaluf…you have been warned! Strictly adults only.
SPLASH ZONE!
Get even closer to the action with the best seats in the house – choose one of the Orange seats in the Splash Zone! You will almost certainly be picked on and you will almost certainly get wet! Be brave; it’s worth it!

The ConeX Revolution:
This year has seen ConeX launch its ‘Cluster Initiative’, actively building bespoke, pre-vetted clusters of specialist SMEs for large organisations like Airbus. We’re bridging the gap between industry needs and innovative UK manufacturing capabilities, disrupting traditional procurement, and fostering unprecedented collaboration. Looking for something festive to do after work?
On Thursday the 11th of December, one of our talented tour guides will introduce you to the time-capsule Coffin Works museum. This out-of-hours opportunity is the chance to see our iconic Victorian manufactory under candlelight, hearing about the stories of those who worked here and even seeing some of the original machinery in action again.
It is the perfect introduction to our museum for new visitors who have not been here before, but equally as a chance for anyone who has previously explored the museum in the daylight to see it in a whole new way.
But the fun does not end there! Your tour ticket includes a drink in our on-site Casting Shop café — giving you the chance to sample one of our signature cocktails or mocktails before you embark on your exploration of the building. (The precise cocktail for the night is to be announced soon, so watch this space…)
The doors will open at 6pm, for a candlelit tour that starts promptly at 6:45pm. The tour lasts for around an hour and a quarter; please wrap up warm as the museum can be cold.
The Coffin Works preserves the contents of the former Newman Brothers’ manufactory, which opened in 1894 and finally closed its doors in 1998. The shelves and workbenches are full of original stock and tools of the trade, and some of the original machinery is working again so that you can truly experience how this Jewellery Quarter firm once operated. Newman Brothers produced some of the world’s finest coffin furniture, including the fittings for the funerals of Winston Churchill, the Queen Mother and Princess Diana.

Casting the Runes & The Signalman- Double Bill
M.R. James: Casting the Runes
Casting the Runes by M.R. James is a chilling supernatural tale about Edward Dunning, a scholar who unknowingly becomes the target of a vengeful occultist named Karswell. After Dunning criticizes Karswell’s paper on alchemy, Karswell uses a cursed parchment to mark him for death.
As mysterious and terrifying events unfold, Dunning discovers the truth and races against time to pass the deadly runes back to Karswell before the curse claims him. Blending academic skepticism with creeping horror, the story masterfully builds suspense and exemplifies James’s signature style of understated, scholarly ghost fiction. It was first published in 1911.
Charles Dickens: The Signalman
Charles Dickens’ classic ghost story. When a traveller chances upon a solitary railway signalman he is drawn into a tale of ghostly premonitions, tragic occurrences and human solitude that echoes the contrasting Victorian feelings towards the nascent railway system.
Published in 1866 Dickens likely based the story on the incident of the Clayton Tunnel crash that occurred 5 years prior, at the time it was the worst accident on the British railway system. A train ran into the back of another inside the tunnel, killing 23 and injuring 176 passengers.
Beware the ringing of the signalman’s bell!

Event Details
Reggae music has often had an edge but there’s another, gentler side to it, and on this Christmas Sunday, the Jam House rejoices the romantic with the Best of Lover’s Rock for one night only, with live performances from Birmingham’s own Tempted 2 Touch, special guest Danni Mayers, and sounds from our own Pete Sherriff.
The soulful sound of Romantic Reggae came to the fore in the ‘Seventies by the likes of Johnny Nash, chart-toppers Ken Boothe and John Holt and especially, Marcia Griffiths and the “Lover’s Rock icon” Beres Hammond.
Tempted 2 Touch and a collection of special guests will perform many Lovers’ Rock greatest hits in over two hours of live music, supported by the Sound System selection from your favourite Jam House DJs.
Join us on for this Lover’s Rock Revue – open until 2am – and the best way to make the most of the Monday morning lie-in – it is the Christmas holidays after all!
- Doors open from 8pm. Open ’til 2am
- The restaurant will be closed for the evening.
- Smart casual dress.
- Tickets £8 (£10 on the door)
