If you are still looking for the June issue of The Hockley Flyer, it was combined with the May issue.

Since the start of 2025 I have been trying to bring the magazine out earlier in the month but to no avail when in the end decided to combine 2 issues to catch up, thinking it would be a popular move.

How right I was, this issue is the biggest issue for quite a few years, indeed the extra pages and news, plus extra events almost made it late again!
Many years ago, when involved with Stock Car racing and publishing a magazine about it I went to a press day at a local racetrack and met a top journalist from the local paper. Funnily enough he wanted to know who the defending champions were, and the promoters of the event couldn’t remember, well I could, except for one formula and when I said, “I think…” he said, “I only deal with facts not fiction.” I never forgot that, nor another journalist who said every story should have What, Where, When, and Who.

The same could be said about advertising as adverts should say What it is you sell/do, Where you are based, and Who, in this case contact numbers and emails etc on the advert as well as your name and logo.

Amazing how many adverts I get where the advertiser misses off the contact details. More savvy advertisers have dedicated email addresses to know where the enquiries come from and for recruitment adverts for other reasons.
