Lino Printing Workshop & Guided Tour at the Coffin Works
Monday 25th May – Tour begins at 1pm
£30 per person, all materials included
Step inside Birmingham’s historic Coffin Works for a unique creative experience that blends heritage, craft, and hands‑on making.
Your visit begins with a guided tour of the Coffin Works, exploring the original Newman Brothers factory, a perfectly preserved time capsule of Victorian and 20th‑century coffin‑furniture making. Discover the stories behind the workers, the machinery, and the extraordinary fittings once chosen for some of the nation’s most significant funerals.
After the tour, join artist Tammy Woodrow for a lino printing workshop inspired by the museum’s remarkable collection. Tammy will guide you through the process of designing and carving your own lino block, before printing a finished artwork to take home. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker, this is a chance to create something truly personal and distinctive.
To make the afternoon even more enjoyable, we’ll be serving complimentary hot drinks and cakes during the workshop.
