The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) proudly announced Alan Cohen as the recipient of the 2024 NAJ Chair’s Award, presented at the Benevolent Society’s Centenary Christmas Charity Ball. Sponsored by Presman Mastermelt, this accolade celebrates exceptional dedication and service to the jewellery trade.
Alan Cohen was recognised for his pivotal voluntary contributions to the industry, particularly his recent work behind the scenes with G7 nations, government bodies, and the World Diamond Council, whereby his efforts ensured that the implementation of Russian diamond sanctions minimally impacted the UK’s diamond supply chain, safeguarding the trade’s continuity during challenging times.
Despite stepping down as President of the London Diamond Bourse earlier this year, Alan’s commitment to the jewellery industry remains unwavering.
NAJ Chair Adam Jacobs shared, “Alan Cohen epitomises the selflessness, professionalism, and dedication that this award seeks to honour. His tireless work has left an indelible mark on the UK jewellery industry, and we are thrilled to recognise his achievements by awarding him the NAJ Chair’s Award.”
Reflecting on the award, Alan Cohen commented, “Being recognized with the NAJ Chair’s Award is both humbling and deeply meaningful. This honour reflects not just my commitment to the diamond & jewellery trade, but also highlights the collaborative spirit that makes our industry so extraordinary. I’m grateful to the NAJ for this recognition and remain dedicated to contributing to the future growth and excellence of our sector.”
The NAJ Chair’s Award highlights individuals and businesses making a remarkable difference in the jewellery industry, exemplifying the Association’s core values of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
The NAJ wants to hear about individuals and businesses going above and beyond for the trade and its people. If you have such a story, please do email
