NAJ Service Supplier of the Year 2016

Cartercutts have expanded their activities and also moved from 49 Vyse Street to larger premises at 43 Northampton Street, still in the heart of The Jewellery Quarter.

Dedicated to producing rubber moulds of the finest quality for the Trade, Les Carter states: “All our customers receive a professional service with master pattern confidentiality being one of our highest priorities at all times.”

Company Profile:
Les Carter started work in 1992 for a large jewellery manufacturer where he learned all aspects of casting techniques and the basics of rubber mould making, in 1998 he left to set up his own business, Cartercutts. In 1993 he employed his brother Chris to work alongside him; Chris also had worked for two leading casting companies. With the experience both of them possess and knowing the casting procedure, this enables them to understand all the requirements needed of a master pattern to create the perfect rubber mould which will then create a quality cast piece.

In 2011, Les persuaded his wife Sarah to join the team, then in 2013 Cartercutts jewellery was formed,

Les says: “People choose our business for their rubber mould needs because, unlike many other casting companies, we specialise in making rubber moulds. We produce rubber moulds of all kinds of jewellery items including bangles, cluster rings etc. We also offer a vast choice of compound to suit the model. We currently stock 18 different compounds of rubber. As a growing company we wanted to expand and strive forward in what we do best; that is to help our clients create beautiful jewellery, Cartercutts over the past few years have invested in machinery and skills to take our already very highly successful mould making business to the next level.”

Les continues: “We decided to introduce CAD, (computer aided design) and also offer a professional 3D Printing service. Rapid prototyping technology is now all around us, across all industries and with technology moving forward, we have to also, and that’s why Cartercutts are now proud and excited to offer a full in house rapid prototyping jewellery service to nicely accompany our well known successful mould making service.

We pride ourselves on our fast turnaround service, and we strive to keep a very high reputation within our business on quality, and customer service. Our company is built on the principles of making quality jewellery and providing reliable service. Our diversified jewellery service continues to grow by following trends, and listening to the customer. Our unique service has established our place in this industry. This allows us to make a distinctive and substantial impact for our clients.”

In 2016 Cartercutts received the National Association of Jewellers’ Award for ‘Service Supplier of the Year’.
