This month I have to say a huge thank-you to all our readers, advertisers, and distribution points, as well as those supplying regular news items. This magazine would not exist without you, and also for your enthusiasm when delivering the magazine from individuals to distribution points. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year one and all!
The last issue in 2025 and a nice issue to end the year with. It has been a tricky year bringing you this magazine, with 2 issues not being published although all the news was in the 10 issues that were. The main reason was that your publishing editor got COVID-19 – twice!
Another delay was with my main PC which was fine then suddenly kept crashing. I finally tracked it down to the well know PC manufacturers own updating software the culprit.
Further delays came via the web sites in particular the large Hockley Flyer site with hundreds of fake orders suddenly arriving every day.
At the time I did not know there was a version of reCAPTCHA – the little box you tick to say you are human, designed especially for the commerce software. It was taking ages to delete the emails and all the fake orders. Once the new plug-ins were added to the web sites could get back to proper work.
Finally, our late Editor Marie Haddleton started to put the magazines out some 40 years ago at a similar age to me now and she started ballet to make her legs stronger as after a few days walking round the JQ it takes its toll on my legs. Maybe I should start ballet as well – maybe NOT!
