Editorial November 2023

Some interesting news in this issue from the jewellery trade, non-more so than the jewellery making kits by CooksonGold and near neighbours Argent College.

There are three kits available and have to wonder for all budding jewellers out there, how popular they could prove this Christmas. They certainly look good and when finished look rather good, one finished item of jewellery from a kit even finding its way onto our front cover this issue.

Also, a big welcome to our new distribution points, Stryx Community Art Café in Vyse Street and Crescent Silver in Spencer Street. If you don’t get your copy delivered by hand or post, there is usually at least one place you can pick your very own copy up in just about every street in the Jewellery Quarter, and we are always looking for more….

The Hockley Flyer magazine if entirely funded by the advertising, but we could always do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
