Explore the Gothic side of the Jewellery Quarter with a walking tour that takes in two Victorian cemeteries and the Coffin Works Museum. After it’s sell out success last year, join us and dare to take a walk on the dark side.
Begin with tour guide Ian Braisby, who will be leading a walking tour that explores two Victorian Cemeteries (with tales of the cruel realities of life in 19th century Birmingham) plus some of the darker landmarks around the Jewellery Quarter – including sites of murder and execution!
Then you’ll get the chance to explore the last 100 years of working class, industrial history with a guided tour of the Coffin Works. With some of the Victorian machinery in action again, you’ll learn how the highest quality handles, fixtures and fittings for coffins were made in this truly unique time capsule of a Jewellery Quarter manufactory.

This package tour includes:

  • 12.30pm – 2.30pm, Gothic walking tour of the Jewellery Quarter [meet outside the Jewellery Quarter Train Station, on Vyse Street]
  • 2.30pm – 3.15pm, Cuppa and cake in the Coffin Works’ Casting Shop Café [A hot/cold drink and a cake included per ticket]
  • 3.15pm – 4.30pm, A full guided tour of the Coffin Works itself

Tickets are £25 per person.

The day will largely be spent outdoors, no matter the weather, so please dress accordingly.
