It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a truly wonderful man. William Alfred Birkett known to all as Billy Birkett passed away on the 28th of February 2025.
Billy was much loved and respected as a Master Jeweller and a genuinely nice man, probably the last real character of the Jewellery Quarter. He was considered a Legend by those who knew him and will be missed by all.
His last tour of the Trade will be by Horse and Carriage on Friday 11th of April, from 09:30am. NB. Time has been changed to 10:45am to meet at The Big Peg.Â
