A friendly, hands-on tech meetup in the Jewellery Quarter as part of Birmingham Tech Week. Expect short talks, practical drop-in stations, and plenty of time to swap ideas with fellow devs, designers, and technologists.

What to expect
Rubber Duck Brum is a community meetup hosted by Good Growth. It blends bite-sized talks with practical, informal “station” sessions where you can get advice on real problems, polish a portfolio, or just talk shop.
Whether you’re early in your career, switching paths, or a seasoned engineer looking to meet the local community, you’re welcome. And of course, we’ll have snacks and light refreshments for you.

Speakers
Short, practical talks focused on real lessons from shipping products and solving problems.
Drop-in Stations
Three themed stations will run before and after the talks. No booking required, just drop in.
- Employability
Help with CVs, portfolios, interview prep, and breaking into tech.
- UX and UI
Feedback on portfolios and personal projects, interface reviews, and design critiques.
- Code Clinic
Bring bugs, ideas, or side projects for quick pair-debugging and guidance.
You’ll also find Good Growth engineers and team members around the space if you want to chat about careers, culture, or current work.

Getting there
The Joint Works is in the Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from Jewellery Quarter station and St. Paul’s Square. On-street parking is available nearby.
