Forthcoming at the Coffin Works

Heritage Open Day
This year the free day is going to be Sunday 15th September. There will be nine tours from 11am until 3pm and celebrating the Heritage Open Days theme for this year ‘People Power’.
‘We’ll be celebrating all the volunteers that make the Coffin Works special and make Heritage Open Days possible – with a team of ten volunteers on the day alone, to help with extra visitors and tours!’

Jewellery Quarter Walking Tours
Includes 1.5-hour walking tour of the Historic Jewellery Quarter PLUS a tour of the Coffin Works. With the option to add lunch at The Hive Cafe too!
Friday 2nd August – Friday 9th August – Friday 16th August
Plus 2 extra dates for Birmingham Heritage Week!
Friday 13th September – Friday 20th September
Tour tickets for the day are £20 or include lunch for £26.50.

Family Friendly Tour and Craft Activity
A shorter, child-friendly tour of the museum, followed by a fun craft activity inspired by factory processes.
Dress up as factory workers and explore the Victorian workshops with your friendly tour guide! Learn about how things were made, the jobs people did and why children like you would have been working in the factory.

Sunday 11th August at 11.30am – Foiled Newman Brothers shapes – using metal foils to make shiny cardboard cut-outs of Newman Brothers’ designs.
Sunday 1st September at 11.30am – Metal Stamping, stamping your names or favourite phrases onto metal shapes. Your tour guide will make a hole in the metal using a piercing tool so you can use your artwork as a pendant, bracelet, or key ring.

£5 per person (all children must be accompanied by a paying adult). Tickets are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Booking online is essential, Recommended for ages 5-12.

Evening Tour with Prosecco
Thursday 22nd August 2019 at 6.30pm
Spend a special evening at the Coffin Works, with an atmospheric tour of the museum. Join us for a glass of prosecco and exclusive screening of documentary films highlighting new areas of collections research before your tour. – Tickets £15.
