Gemvisions New Version of Matrix Software

Matrix 7 Design Software

Gemvision Europe is demonstrating the latest version of its Matrix jewellery design software on stand C120 at the IJL show. Matrix 7 brings greater organic design functionality and even more realistic imaging to the market-leading Matrix software design package.

It incorporates T-Splines technology, which improves on traditional CAD functionality to give designers more freedom in creating the type of complex organic design shapes, which are generally only created by hand.

Version 7 also has the new V-Ray render engine built-in, enabling jewellers to produce an accurate, photo realistic image of their designs within 30 seconds – a powerful design and sales tool.

Since its launch in 2001 Gemvision’s Matrix software has built a powerful following in the jewellery trade and is used by leading names such as Graff, Mappin & Webb, Beards, Cellini, and Domino. Matrix offers jewellers all the benefits of a CAD tool designed specifically for the trade, allowing on-screen, dimensionally accurate design and substantially reducing the time taken from initial idea to final production.

Linked with Gemvision’s Revo 540 Milling system or any other prototyping technology, fully representational wax models of the design can be created quickly and economically.

Cellini in Cambridge uses the combination of Matrix and Revo in its design and production workshop where it has proved crucial to the growth of its bespoke design service, as workshop director Howard Carter explains:

“The interface is so much friendlier for the professional jeweller – all the things that you could possibly wish for are right there in the toolbox so you can concentrate fully on creating the perfect design. The rendering in Matrix is what makes our money.

The quality is just staggering – you cannot believe you cannot reach out and pick it up off the screen! When a customer can see their ideas interpreted so perfectly and so quickly it makes all the difference.

In addition at IJL, Gemvision with be unveiling a brand new version of its pioneering CounterSketch Studio design software, which offers retailers an easy-to-use bespoke design service in store, enabling them to deliver a major expansion of their product range without the overheads.

With facilities in the UK, the United States and a global network of authorised dealers, Gemvision brings jewellers and technology together with innovative Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing CAD/CAM) products.
