Intergem 2023 is getting a new addition in the form of GemTec – Forum and Exhibition. The name says it all: it is all about innovative technologies, devices, and tools for the gemstone and jewellery industry. The focus will also be on other materials, such as glass and ceramics, as well as their processing and finishing. Professional visitors to Intergem will therefore get twice the benefit. Firstly, through insights into the current state of gemstone, gold, and forging technology, and secondly through the most up-to-date developments in alternative materials, which are increasingly used in modern designs for jewellery pieces and gemstone creations. The technical basis for this is the machining of hard and brittle materials.
Ralph Effgen, CEO of Günter Effgen GmbH: “An outstanding group of medium-sized companies has emerged in our region with expertise in the jewellery and gemstone industry. Once hidden champions, these companies are now active nationally and internationally. Thanks to Intergem, they will have the chance to deepen existing contacts and forge new ones.”
This impressive development is now brought to Intergem by Messe Idar-Oberstein in cooperation with IHK Koblenz and WFG BIR mbH. “Something like this could only exist in the region around Idar-Oberstein.” highlights Dr. Konrad Henn, chairman of the Fair Association.
As part of Intergem 2023 from September 29 to October 01, approx. 10 to 15 companies who are specialists in “HartSpröde,” or “Hard Brittle” materials will exhibit in Hall 2 on Trade Fair Friday (September 29) and on Trade Fair Saturday (September 30), there will also be the GemTec symposium, with expert presenters and discussion groups. Planned topics include the state of the art in technologies, grinding technique and technology, and design.
Admittance to GemTec (both the trade fair and the symposium) is included in the standard Intergem visitor ticket. Together with our partners, IHK Koblenz and WFG BIR mbH, Intergem 2023 looks forward to a successful premiere of GemTec as part of Intergem.
