Hearts of Gold

Early in February an article was featured on national television about a terminally ill young girl called Gemma Kennedy, whose family home was burgled.

The thieves stole Gemma’s collection of jewellery and must have known they were targeting a disabled child as their home had a ramp entrance with a small wheel chair.

Cookson Precious Metals and a number of other firms around the Jewellery quarter have donated items to replace those stolen, as a small gesture to cheer her up.

Gemma’s grandmother said: “It proves that there is a place in people’s hearts for disabled children.”
