Idar-Oberstein. Intergem switches to spring! Important news regarding Intergem – the international trade fair for gemstones, gemstone jewellery and gemstone objects in Idar-Oberstein.

To provide a better time slot for Intergem exhibitors and visitors in the tightly packed trade fair calendar, Intergem will move from autumn 2024 to spring 2025. Next year, Intergem will take place from 11th to 13th April instead of late September/early October.

As a small but fine and exclusive trade fair at the heart of the Idar-Oberstein’s Gem & Jewellery industry, Intergem was more and more squeezed between national and international trade fairs, such as Hong Kong or Munich. The new fair schedule will make logistics and planning easier for exhibitors and visitors.

Dr. Konrad Henn, Chairman of the trade fair association, explains: “Moving Intergem to 11th to 13th April 2025 minimizes scheduling conflicts in the exhibitors and visitors event calendars. This change will make participation at Intergem less stressful. Next year we will also invite our exhibitors and visitors to join us for Intergem’ s 40th anniversary celebration.”

Mirko Arend, Managing Director of Messe Idar-Oberstein, adds: “We will also further strengthen the frame of the 40th Intergem 2025. GEMTec (exhibition and forum), which celebrated its very successful premiere at Intergem 2023, will also be moving to the new date.”

In addition to an expansion of GEMTtec – machines, tools, alternative materials, and innovative technologies for the processing of hard minerals – it is planned to enrich the next Intergem with high quality minerals. The meanwhile third edition of the Long Night of Gemstones will again inspire visitors of Intergem and all interested people from the region around Idar-Oberstein.

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
