Jewellers of the JQ ‘Meet the Experts’ Event Celebrated as a Resounding Success

The Jewellers of the JQ ‘Meet the Experts’ event – a collaboration between the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and Mastermelt – has been hailed a great success, with more than 100 professionals and students registered.

Hosted by Birmingham’s School of Jewellery on Wednesday 11th February, the evening created a relaxed, welcoming space for people to connect and share industry know-how. Supported by JQ Bid, the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust, and 25 industry and business experts who freely gave their time, the event encouraged practical ‘how to’ conversations and new connections across the trade.

Whether attendees were jewellers, makers, retailers, students, or those just starting out, the meet-up offered the chance to learn something new, seek advice, and gain confidence through peer and expert support.

Ben Massey, NAJ chief executive, said, “We were delighted to welcome so many people to the Jewellery Quarter’s first Meet the Experts event. The enthusiasm and openness shown by everyone who attended reflects the strength and collaborative spirit of the Jewellery Quarter. A huge thank you goes to our partners at Mastermelt and, of course, to the experts who so generously shared their time and knowledge.”

Mark Cutler, Mastermelt jewellery team manager, added, “It was fantastic to see such a vibrant mix of professionals and students coming together to ask questions, share ideas and learn from one another. The atmosphere was friendly, engaging and truly encouraging. We encourage anyone connected to the Jewellery Quarter to get involved in the next meet-up and be part of this growing network.”

The next industry event in the quarter will be the Careers Day on Thursday, 26th March, hosted by Birmingham Assay Office.
The NAJ and Mastermelt will be running more “Meet the Experts” events across the UK. To stay informed, sign up for free to the NAJ mailing list.
