Obituary – Rex James – Clock/Watch Repairs

The picture shows the three generations of clock-makers/repairers.

‘My grandad James William James left the army in 1918 and having learned instrument and watch repairs he went to a jeweller in Stone to serve his apprenticeship.
He then came to Birmingham and bought his first watchmakers and jewellers shop which he owned for several years. Over many years his sons Beau and Rex helped run several shops around Birmingham and later I (Robert his grandson) came into the business, having studied at the Birmingham School of Jewellery. (Robert now runs a clock shop over in Ashbourne R A James clocks).

His father, Beau, died 3 years ago at 93 and Rex died recently also at 93

The cremation of Rex James takes place at Sutton Crematorium 10.30 on 13th April 2016.
