It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the death of Arthur William Stanley of” Stanley’s the Jewellers.”
Arthur passed away at 10.15a.m on 13th March 2012 after a battle bravely fought against cancer. He will be deeply missed by everybody who knew and loved him.
Arthur spent the last 36 years in the Jewellery Quarter building a very successful business. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and determination.
Starting from a small room with a polishing motor, with just his wife Valerie and his sister Alison helping him, to two retail shops and workshops employing 24 staff.
Arthur’s two children Scott and Samantha (with husband Jason) later joined the company along with other sister Dorothy and nephew Mark.
Arthur treated all the staff as family, while keeping a tight rein on things, would also be there for anyone needing his help.
There will be nobody that could fill the gap that Arthur has left. He will remain in our memory, so Arthur rest in peace; from all our hearts we love you.
