British Academy of Jewellery held jewellery sale in support of The Proud Trust

The British Academy of Jewellery charity jewellery sale was held on 17th May 2022, with all proceeds going to The Proud Trust. The event ran at the Academy’s London campus at Morley House.
The jewellery sale feature pieces created and donated by BAJ students, tutors, and members of the wider community.

The Proud Trust is an LGBT+ organisation that supports LGBT+ young people through youth groups, peer support, mentoring programs, and its Proud Connections chat service. The organisation aims to create a strong support network for LGBT+ youth groups and young people, advocate for young LGBT+ people, and provide opportunities to bring young people together through regional events such as Pride Youth Games, peer educator training, and conferences.

“At BAJ we really believe in getting our students involved in the wider jewellery community and encouraging them to use their fantastic jewellery making skills to make a positive impact on the world,” said BAJ Jewellery Diplomas Programme Lead Sally Collins.

“We decided to run this jewellery sale to raise money for The Proud Trust, as we know it’s an important cause that would resonate with our students, staff, and wider community. There’s going to be a really beautiful selection of jewellery on display to enjoy and purchase- a very tempting array of pieces in a range of materials, sizes, and wearable options- something for everyone!”

The jewellery sale is the latest initiative from BAJ that seeks to effect positive change and make a difference. Previous charitable initiatives include a Valentine’s Jewellery Auction in aid of Blueprint for All and ‘Pins of Praise’ range of four exclusive pins sold to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
