Something that I do not get asked about and to be honest never really gone into is companies sponsoring The Hockley Flyer.
Never had any sponsorship as such apart from one company, they were launching a new multi occupied residential and commercial scheme and offered The Hockley Flyer £4,000 and we agreed on a set number of double page spread adverts and whilst the adverts were running to print their press releases. They had several adverts and were ready to continue with the deal, but they seemed happy enough with what was published and never asked for anymore
I have never divided the magazine up into possible sponsorship sections, but the news sections could be sponsored, Trade Talk, Leisure, News Extra, Property and Heritage. That would be across both the printed magazines and of course the web site. It could also be linked to other sections such as the Events pages as well.
Having published a car racing magazine for 25 years, which sadly had to stop some 12 years ago, I know sponsorship can vary enormously, from sticking some stickers on a friends race car for nothing, to paying anything up to buying the race car with spares, tyres transporter, travel costs and team clothing where the racer pays nothing. It is all open to discussion and agreements with nothing and everything to be agreed. Is anyone interested in helping the magazine grow with sponsorship?
