Last Chance this Year to View Assay Office Silver Collection

This is the last chance for the public to come into The Birmingham Assay Office this year… Call now to reserve a place – £12. Tel 0871 871 6020 or email

The Birmingham Assay Office is pleased to announce that it is uniquely opening its doors to the General Public and offering limited places on its popular Silver Collection Visits programme – on one day only.

Usually these visits are only available to organised groups, so this is a unique opportunity to see the spectacular Silver Collection, the Library, and to hear about the history of hallmarking and The Birmingham Assay Office.

Visitors will be met with a warm welcome, including coffee and biscuits before the visit, and afterwards, in the Gift Shop, they will be able to buy gifts such as books and silver items all made in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and hallmarked at The Birmingham Assay Office. There are lots of Gift ideas for that someone special…

The Silver Collection Visit will take place on Thursday 6th December, at The Birmingham Assay Office, with the option of a morning visit at 11.00am or an afternoon visit at 2.00pm.

Tickets are selling fast so don’t delay, book today!

The Hockley Flyer magazine if entirely funded by the advertising, but we could always do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
