New Role for Sarah Jordan

Award-winning British jewellery designer Sarah Jordan has been named Creative Director of You Fine Jewellery, the parent business of Arctic Circle Diamonds.

With a career that has spanned more than 30 years, Sarah Jordan brings a fresh perspective and design expertise to You Fine Jewellery and Arctic Circle, and will help to develop their product ranges to meet the needs of today’s jewellery customers.

In her new role as Creative Director of You Fine Jewellery, Sarah Jordan has been intrinsic in the design and creation of Arctic Flowers – the new bridal collection from Arctic Circle Diamonds debuting at J&WB 2016.

Jordan is also the creative mind behind a new Fairtrade gold jewellery collection from You Fine Jewellery, which will be officially unveiled to the trade on Sunday February 7th at J&WB.

Alongside her role at You Fine Jewellery, Jordan has been announced as Creative Design Consultant to Birmingham jewellery manufacturer Hockley Mint. The business first approached Sarah Jordan in 2015 to consult with its design and manufacturing teams to improve production and cultivate a more refined style for Hockley Mint’s bridal and fine jewellery collections. The business launched a new 25-piece bridal collection at Jewellery & Watch Birmingham.

This new bridal collection marks the first in a number of seasonal collections from Hockley Mint due to be overseen by Sarah Jordan and created in partnership with Hockley Mint’s experienced and talented in-house teams.

Speaking of her appointment, Sarah said: “Working with Hockley Mint, You Fine Jewellery and their directors Gary Wroe and Judith Lockwood is a once-in-lifetime opportunity. Together, the three of us have great synergy. Working over three aligned brands, the resulting designs and collections will complement each other, while making a strong impact on the UK jewellery market. Each brand is unique and individual, with its own strong brand identity; the three together afford us fantastic market coverage from designer’s sketch to commercial finished products. As Creative Director of Arctic Circle, our exciting new brand under You Fine Jewellery, and of course my own collections, I look forward to developing each brand’s identity and introducing them to new audiences.”

Speaking of the appointment of Sarah Jordan as Creative Design Consultant, Hockley Mint managing director Gary Wroe said: “Sarah has transformed the way Hockley Mint works, sitting down with our talented design and manufacturing teams to develop their methods, attention to detail and skills. She has won great respect from our setters and in-house design team, and we are thrilled to be working with her as our Creative Design Consultant for the coming seasons.”

Judith Lockwood, co-director of You Fine Jewellery, which manufactures and distributes Arctic Circle Diamonds, added: “Having Sarah join You Fine Jewellery as Creative Director has been a huge step for us and Arctic Circle Diamonds, and we are honoured to have her input on our new bridal collection, Arctic Flowers. Sarah has worked tirelessly to develop this new range, taking inspiration from her own nature-inspired and organic design signature, and teaming it with our story of Fairtrade precious metals and Canadian diamonds, sourced from the remote, frozen tundra of northern Canada.”

Sarah Jordan has been listed in the Professional Jeweller Hot 100 twice for her work as a British jewellery designer, and has showcased her work at international shows for several years.

Alongside her work with You Fine Jewellery and Hockley Mint, Sarah Jordan will continue to run her own-label silver and fine jewellery brand.
