Shrieval Horse Ride

On 10th July 2019, Sheriffs of the City of London, Alderman Vincent Keaveny and The Hon Liz Green, rode on horseback through the City of London to raise money for The Sheriff’s ABD Recorder’s Fund. The Sheriffs visited a number of Livery Halls and businesses, finishing their journey at Armoury House (home of the Honourable Artillery Company) for a fund-raising lunch.

The Sheriffs and Recorders Fund supports ex-offenders and families in London, to help them stop offending and start a new life. Last year the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity gave a donation of £6,000 and will continue its support of the fund once again this year.

The public can also donate to this worthy cause through their JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sheriffs-challenge-2019

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
