There are some fixed dates in the diary of the gemstone and jewellery world, which you simply have to attend. One of these is undoubtedly Intergem,

the gemstone and jewellery trade fair held at Idar-Oberstein, where regional firms with a long tradition as well as creative newcomers among the designers present themselves together with all the big names from the gemstone sector and anybody who has services to offer from which the sector might profit.

Over 5,000 sqm of area at the new fair grounds in Idar-Oberstein provided the appropriate frame for an event, where the exhibits are in category all by themselves.

Thus here you find not only excellent gemstones and diamonds of highest clarity and purity, but for the first time ever in the world there are pale naturally blue Akoya-pearls of the amazing size of over 9 mm presented to the public.

The high expertise and skills of the jewellery industry is demonstrated in each and every object shown at the trade fair, which again managed to charm the audience with its unique and special atmosphere.

After all, where else in the world can you obtain a concise impression of new developments, new stones, new occurrences and new trends or trade agreements? Expert lectures and panel discussions as well as informal talks with experts from the gemstone sector have again made it possible to gather valuable information and gain new impulse.

The trade fair here succeeds in creating the ideal balance between traditional firms, which have long established their reputation, and innovative newcomers. The resulting network of connections enables any visitors to find something interesting or fascinating, to make new contacts or expand and nurture already existing ones.

The central location in the middle of Europe is reflected in the number of visitors. A considerable amount comes from neighbouring countries like the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and France, but there were also quite a few visitors from the States or Japan.
