Malcolm Francis celebrated working for 50 years in the Jewellery Quarter in September.
Malc started work as a diamond cutter for L D Price in Frederick Street in 1966. Malc’s dad, also called Malcom got him this job when he was working as an electrician in the Jewellery Quarter.
Malc then went on to work for himself in 1985 after his daughter was born. Malc has been self-employed ever since and is now based on Northampton Street, as ‘Malcolm t/a Easylines’.
Malc is well known for his singing when he is out and about walking around the trade and his claim to fame is that every year he makes the medals for the Scottish Football Premier League.
Over the past 50 years Malc has specialised in designing and manufacturing unique pieces of jewellery that are truly ‘one of a kind’.
Malc has recently turned 65 and became a grandfather for the first time. Malc’s wife Pauline, daughter Emma and granddaughter Lily are all hoping that Malc will now start to spend a bit more time at home and on the golf course.
