A E Harris & Co (Birmingham) Ltd based in Northwood Street have bought bus driver seat manufacturer Chapman Driver Seating Ltd.
The production of bus driver seats designed and made by Chapman Driver Seating has been transferred from its factory near Milton Keynes, to the Jewellery Quarter and has created fifteen new jobs.
Chapman supplies bus driver seats to operators including First Group, Stagecoach and Arriva and to bus and coach builders including Plaxton, Alexander Dennis and Wright Bus.
A E Harris has been based in the Hockley area for over 132 years and makes metal pressings, press tools, welded assemblies, turned and machined parts, laser cut components for a wide variety of industries.
