Blue Orange Youth Theatre Celebrates 1st Birthday!

The Blue Orange Youth Theatre is proud to celebrate its 1st birthday! The Blue Orange Theatre opened its doors to the general public in 2011. Since then the theatre has produced over 30 in house productions and hosted numerous visiting companies.

In 2012 they decided to extend their activity to young people aged 7 – 18 through providing a weekly youth theatre class that was both fun and educational.

In the last year they have seen their members list grow and are continually revealing new and exciting projects for the young people to take part in.

The juniors recently performed their take on the classic story Jumanji, made famous by the 1990’s Robin Williams film, whilst the seniors created their very own murder mystery play entitled ‘Murder at the Manor’.

The theatre have lots of exciting potential projects to announce in September including half term workshops, site specific theatre performances and drama level 3 examinations.

Holly Phillips the youth theatre director commented, “We are very pleased to have developed and grown over the last year and we’re always looking for the next exciting project to entertain our members. I would like to thank everyone for their support and hope to welcome lots of new faces in September!”
The next term begins on Saturday 20th September and runs until Saturday 6th December.
