We are excited to see the capital works in Warstone Lane Cemetery drawing to a close with both Midland Conservation and HFN working on site to get everything completed.
For now, the memorial stone remains covered awaiting its official unveiling, but the chapel footprint garden is now open to the public with new benches and litter bins, so it is a perfect spot for lunch on a sunny day.
The final section of catacomb stonework is underway, and the stone pillars have been fitted on Pitsford St ready for the final set of gates.
Before the end of June, we will also see new information panels appearing around the cemeteries too, to help visitors learn more about the history, people, and wildlife. We look forward to celebrating the restoration with everyone later in the Summer.
