This month The Hockley Flyer has a new web site, not something I intended to do, but rather had to as my web provider sent me a notice they were going to switch off some stuff in the background necessary for web sites to work. For the more tech savvy people, I was being upgraded to php v8 from 7.4, but 7.4 was going to be switched off from early April, or I had the option to pay £7 a month for each web site I have to keep it. I don’t know about you but paying extra for old technology just seems wrong!
Thankfully most of my sites worked with the new version, but The Hockley Flyer site did not, nor did the Jewellery Quarter Heritage site, so both have been given a major overhaul and rebuilt, and as a result are faster, take up less server space and are easier to navigate. New features means The Hockley Flyer is easier to chat to, with links to Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Skype via one click.
Lots of Jewellery manufacturing News and associated news this issue again, plus the big news is that The Hockley Fyer is supporting another appeal to help the Earthquake wrecked regions in Turkey/Syria as we embark on a ‘road trip’ to distribute our own ‘aid’. Plus you can donate very easily online, or write to our usual address in Great Barr.
