Artist's Talk - Andrew Barrowman ARBSA

Join us in the Gallery from 2 – 3pm for an artist’s talk and demonstration from Andrew Barrowman ARBSA.

Andrew works with willow charcoal and a variety of erasers to create his atmospheric charcoal landscape drawings. He will demonstrate how he constructs a drawing with willow charcoal, beginning with energetic abstract tonal shapes that are erased and added to, in a continuing ‘push / pull’ way of working, gradually refining the image subtly by erasing and adding more charcoal. Andrew will be using willow charcoal, putty erasers, hard erasers on Fabriano Accademia paper.

Andrew Barrowman ARBSA recently appeared on Sky Arts Landscape of Year 2024 and will be in the gallery to talk and demonstrate some of his techniques, whilst answering questions from visitors.
