Fortunes of War

(The West Midlands at the Time of Waterloo)

Review by Marie Haddleton
Although best known as the acknowledged Heritage Consultant for The Jewellery Quarter, I am also interested in the history of the wider West Midlands which, quite naturally, always refers back to The Jewellery Quarter, the home of Invention and Innovation.

Subsequently, I found this book very interesting and the pictures are superb!

A special place on my bookshelf for this new book is assured.

The Hockley Flyer magazine if entirely funded by the advertising, but we could always do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
