A new brochure, designed to provide a brief but comprehensive overview of the Hallmarking services provided by The Birmingham Assay Office, has recently been completed.
In addition to providing a history of Hallmarking in the UK and the origins of The Birmingham Assay Office, the brochure provides a guide to the symbols and marks used to create hallmarks and a description of the processes used to assay gold, silver, and platinum.
“The new brochure has been designed to replace a range of hallmarking literature which had been produced over a number of years,” said Marion Wilson, Marketing Director.
“It underscores the continuing importance of Hallmarking in terms of both consumer and trade protection and gives readers a succinct overview of the complex processes that are carried out before an item is hallmarked.”
