Help – Who Stole The Assay Office Plaque?

Someone has stolen The Birmingham Assay Office ‘Assay Office’ Plaque from the front entrance of The Assay Office b building.

“We are all devastated. Please can you help track the Plaque down. Here is a photo of the Plaque as it was in situ and a photo of the empty space which greeted us all recently.

The plaque was hallmarked in 1977 and has the (Silver) Jubilee hallmark and the date letter C. The Plaque is sterling silver with 18ct gold lettering.

The lettering is flush with the surface and the Plaque has a raised border.

If you have any information that would help us and see the safe return of the Plaque to its rightful place please get in touch.

We really need your help.”

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
