“We have seen a considerable increase in the quality of the registered trade fair visitors,” says Dr Konrad Henn, from the Idar-Oberstein Trade Fair Organisation. In the field of coloured gemstones as well as diamonds, designers’ objets d’art and jewellery the purchases were planned and deliberate.
“Especially stones of top quality and in the upper price range were very much sought after,” underlines Nicole Ripp from the firm of Groh & Ripp. Also special and unique cuts, top stones in spectacular colours as well as creatively designed pieces were in high demand.
The international character of Intergem is being continually expanded. In 2011 round about 20% of the visitors came from countries outside Germany, with the European countries and the USA in the lead; however, also guests from the Bermuda Islands were registered.
The business atmosphere was relaxed, and the trade fair organisers provided an efficient and smooth service in all respects. The well-rounded offer of the trade fair offered also interesting and fascinating experts’ lectures, e.g., by Sir Gabriel Tolkovsky and Dr. Ulrich Henn. A fantastic party-event met any wishes on the Saturday of the trade fair, thus adding the final element to an overall enjoyable framework around the trade fair.
Visitors and exhibitors were also full of praise for the photo-studio service offered in the fairgrounds: jewellery and gemstones could be photographed professionally, and even a model could be provided, should this be desired.
All in all, the attractive autumn event offers the gemstone sector – also considering the Christmas business – the complete range of offers in the field of gemstones, jewellery, objects and gemstone-related services and assets.
This perfectly interwoven network has been clearly understood by the exhibitors. Over 80% have therefore directly signalled their willingness to participate in 2012 also.
