Obituary – Richard Empson 1943 – 2013

It is very sad to report the death from cancer on 5th April 2013, of Richard ‘Dick’ Empson.

Dick was Chairman of the Jewellery Quarter Research Group who are responsible for the Key Hill and Warstone Lane Cemeteries. Dick has been researching and listing the graves over a long period.

He was also a Director of The Jewellery Quarter Association Ltd for several years.and gave a very interesting talk at one of their ‘Breakfasts’ about some of the important people buried in Key Hill and Warstone Lane Cemeteries.

A cremation service will be held at Sandwell Crematorium Newton Road (post code B71 3SX) at 1.45 pm on Tuesday 16th April.

Dick had requested that instead of flowers, his friends may wish to make a donation to his favourite charity ‘Farm Africa’ (0207 7433 0440) requesting that the donation should be ‘In Memory of Richard Empson’.
