Sergeant Matt McVeigh, who has been our Police Sergeant, stationed at Vyse Street Police Station for over five years, retired on the 4th December.
During his term of office, he has been closely involved in all aspects of The Jewellery Quarter and we all wish him a very happy retirement.
Matt has been replaced by Sergeant James Ashcroft
The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
