Sew and Sew

The Crafts Collective has been set up by Felicity Tracey in a studio in Frederick Street, Birmingham – (you may remember her father Sgt. Gordon Tracey).

To get to know people in the Jewellery Quarter they are hosting an event that will appeal to ladies in business, as well as residents in the Quarter.

Felicity is simply asking people to donate their time to attend their venue and to help sew up the masses of knitted/crocheted squares (which have already been kindly donated by the public) in order to turn them into ‘comfort blankets’ for Cancer patients.

No experience is necessary. They are raising money for the QE Breast Care Clinic.

Whilst sewing up the squares, participants can enjoy a drink and some cake. The dates are in July on Mon 21st 12-4pm, Tue 22nd 6-8pm, and Wed 23rd 5-7pm.

Please get in touch with Fliss at The Crafts Collective to let them know when you can make it and receive directions on how to get there. E: . T: Felicity 07877 717241.

The Hockley Flyer magazine if entirely funded by the advertising, but we could always do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Our subscribers pay only a bit more then the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
