Something to do close to home this August Bank Holiday Monday? Enjoy the summer fete at St Paul’s Square in the JQ.
On Bank Holiday Monday 28th August St Paul’s Church will be holding its popular annual summer fete from 12 noon to 5.00pm. All the favourites will be in place:
- Music and dance all day from Blue Dot Radio
- Stalls featuring local producers of jewellery, arts & crafts, health, graphics, and stationery
- Classic cars on display
- Street food, desserts, and drinks
- The church’s fundraising raffle
- Church guided tours and the church bells will be ringing!
The summer fete helps raise money towards the church’s project to repair the church and renovate its community facilities. But most of all, the organisers want local residents and visitors to come and have fun.
Reverend David Tomlinson says all the plans are in place for a super day:
“We have worked hard to improve the annual summer fete in every way: more stallholders, a greater selection of food and drink, live music and dance and great raffle prizes. Everything is in place for another fun-filled August Bank Holiday Monday. We want people to have fun and enjoy themselves. It is an added bonus for us if we can also raise funds to help us repair the church. This year we have launched our Raise the Roof campaign to raise the funding urgently needed to repair the church roof.”
The church’s summer fete is an established feature of the August Bank Holiday Monday. On previous occasions, JQ residents and businesses have been great supporters of the day and the square has been alive with laughter, music, and dance – this year will be no different!
The following businesses are the sponsors for this year’s summer fete, and are grateful to them all for their generosity:
- BHP Collectibles
- Kangs Solicitors
- Maguire Jackson
