2019 Christmas Lights Switch-on in JQ

The annual Jewellery Quarter Christmas Lights Switch On organised by JQBID took place on Friday 15th November and was a roaring success!

The Birmingham Voice of the Town Choir brought festive cheer and popular songs to the live stage as the crowds gathered.

Hot food was provided by Canoodle Catering who were serving up bowlfuls of loaded fries and fried chicken.

The bar was stocked with hot mulled wine and cider as well as cold drinks to keep everyone merry and warm in the cold November weather.

The lights were officially turned on by the Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, with the help of several visiting children.

As the crowds finished their countdown, over 100 bespoke Christmas Lights turned on, including the illuminated 3 x 3 m light installation in the shape of a classic diamond ring. The spectacular fireworks display went off with a bang to the delight of the crowd below.

The final act on stage was the ever-popular Bombshell Belles who returned for their fourth year running with a classic medley of Christmas songs before the event wrapped up and the crowds dispersed to warm up indoors.
