On 28th April the new ‘Carl Chinn Library and Community Room’ was officially opened by Councillor Len Gregory and Mrs Gillian Gregory – The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham, in the company of the Pen Room President Professor Carl Chinn MBE, Vice-President Sir Adrian Cadbury and Councillor Kath Hartley.
There was a large turnout of invited guests and Friends of the Pen Room and there was a presentation of a pen for the Lord Mayor and some flowers for the Mayoress.
Also invited were Steve Millington Silversmith of L.J. Millington, Nick Stockbridge, Managing Director of Manuscript Pens, Highley, Bridgenorth and John Berkeley Managing Director of C. Brandauer, these three companies probably the best known pen and pen nib manufacturers in the world!
A gorgeous and delicious cake had been baked and everyone had the chance to look around and admire the new facility.
