Design Space in the Mailbox

Design Space is a collective of independent designer makers producing individual selections of jewellery, silverware, and tableware.

Their work is now on display and available for purchase in the jewellery box, as part of style renaissance in The Mailbox, Birmingham.

Design Space is a Birmingham City Council and European Regional Development funded workshop, based in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter.

It is a launch pad for twenty local, international, up, and coming designer makers starting their new businesses.

These designer makers come from varied backgrounds, from traditionally trained jewellers to recent design graduates.

Their work ranges from fine silverware, to bold statement, mixed media pieces, with talents ranging from ancient hand-making techniques to the use of ground-breaking modern technology, this diverse collection has something to suit all tastes.

This exclusive event is running over Christmas until the 30th of December.

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
