Domestic Bliss at the RBSA Gallery

27 January – 24 March 2007

An eclectic mix of textiles, ceramics, silverware and designer-maker jewellery make for an inspiring exhibition focusing on the theme of Domesticity.
New exhibitor Suzanne Smith’s textile cakes and chocolates exude a quirky individualism.

Made combining hand-dyed vintage lace, precious metals and gemstones, these beautiful decorative objects with a nostalgic twist, look good enough to eat!

Also featuring in this exhibition will be textile artist Julie Haslam, who will be showcasing her range of screen printed napkins and tea towels based on old fashioned recipe books and archetypal domestic imagery, alongside Julie Pettitt’s scrumptious porcelain cupcakes and Hannah Lamb’s quirky lapel pins and pin cushions made from oddments found in the button tin.
