Friends at the NEC Genealogy Show

The Friends of Key Hill Cemetery & Warstone Lane Cemetery attended their first major show at the Genealogy Show on 7th/8th June 2019.

This was made possible by the support of The Hockley Flyer and the sponsorship of a member of the Jewellery Quarter community.

Jacqui Fielding reports: “Our stall was constantly busy with queries from the public. I really feel we have raised the awareness of these two important cemeteries.

Visitors included those who had travelled from America, Canada, Australia, France, Belgium as well as all parts of the U.K., who are researching their ancestry. What a fabulous time we had – very busy with no break from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.”

The Hockley Flyer magazine is entirely funded by the advertising, but could do with a little bit more funding. The advertising not only pays for the design/printing, but also postage, delivery, all the associated paperwork/accounts, and research for the Heritage section. Subscribers pay only a bit more than the postage/mailing costs, and the magazines are free - no cover price.
