Help With Hallmarks App Launched

The Birmingham Assay Office is delighted to announce the arrival of its latest innovative App – Help with Hallmarks. Available on both iPhone and iPad as well as Android devices, it enables users to quickly research and identify the date letter on precious metal, jewellery, and silverware.

The App includes date letters from the eleven key assay offices in the UK, going back as far as 1544.

Priced at only £9.99, the App also contains useful information relating to hallmarks, and is an invaluable “on the go” tool for retailers, collectors, antique and second hand dealers, silver experts, valuers and students, as well as members of the public who have a general interest in historic hallmarks.

Just go to iTunes or Google Play store to download – type in Help with Hallmarks – or click on the QR codes to take you straight to the APP.

The Help with Hallmarks App follows on from the AnchorCert Gemstone Weight Estimator APP which has been available for a couple of years and has sold worldwide on both Apple and Android platforms.

In a couple of clicks the AnchorCert Gemstone Carat Weight Estimator can easily calculate the estimated carat weight of diamonds & gemstones from their measurements. The calculation will use the measurement of the length, width and depth of the gemstone (and the minimum and
maximum diameter of round brilliant diamonds.)

The carat weight estimator contains a comprehensive database of diamonds & gemstones as well as a wide selection of shapes/cuts. The App contains detailed information about each individual gemstone including its Specific Gravity, Mohs Hardness and Refractive Index.
