For its 23rd edition, from October 5th/8th 2007, Intergem – International trade fair for gemstones and gemstone jewellery, had a substantial boost.
The positive trend of the previous years continued. Just like last year Intergem increased the numbers of exhibitors by 8% to 153. From 39 nations visited an overall of 3100 trade visitors the renowned trade show to purchase and to be informed about the latest trends. Due to the close proximity to the Airport Frankfurt/Hahn, the degree of internalization was again increased.
The stylistics range was enormous: A wide selection of products of exclusive, as well as rare gemstones and varieties of cuts, as well as numerous styles in the jewellery sector were presented. The innumerable variety of precious stones and pieces of jewellery had like always one common denominator: The perfect craftsmanship.
Besides the versatile range of goods centred around the topic of jewellery, a special focus was placed on the area of service: The promotion by the special trade magazine UJS – Uhren, Juwelen, Schmuck (watches, jewels, jewellery), offered fair visitors the possibility to put pieces of jewellery or gemstones perfectly in the spotlight and have them photographed by a professional photographer, was extremely successful.
Hints and tricks in regards to gemstone and jewellery photography were shared and professional photos of the creations made.
Again an interesting and informative fringe program was offered this year: The professional lectures by renowned lecturers from the trade were well visited. For example: Dr. Claudio Milisenda, German Gemmological Society, discussed ‘The Determination of the Origins of Gemstones’ and Dr. Ulrich Henn lectured about ‘The Mysterious Moonstone’.
On Saturday night, approximately 150 exhibitors and visitors came together for the Farewell-Fairground-Party, where they reflected back on 23 years of Intergem with delicious food and music. An impressive lightshow cast the fair halls in a special light and party guest were able to adjust the lights via remote control.
The athletic part of the fringe program was the traditional golf tournament: On fair Sunday, October 7th, at the picturesque golf course of the Golf club Kirschweiler, the GZ-INTERGEM Golf Cup was played. All together 100 participants competed for the heavily sought after Intergem Cup.
